USA: ICE Cotton Prices Stay Under Pressure, Consolidate Near 62–63 ¢/lb
ICE cotton March 2026 futures remained under pressure, falling from last week’s high of 63.17 ¢/lb to 62.31 ¢/lb on Feb 3, marking a weekly decline of ~0.87 ¢.
On Feb 4, prices continued hovering near the yearly low of 62.30 ¢/lb, reflecting persistent cautious and bearish market sentiment.
The decline is driven by a stronger US Dollar Index and a broader sell-off across global commodities, triggering risk-off positioning.
Lower crude oil prices have reduced polyester fiber costs, weakening cotton’s competitiveness, while global textile mill demand remains subdued despite some recovery in US apparel PMI.
With the US Prospective Plantings report awaited later this month, cotton prices are expected to consolidate within the 62–63 ¢/lb range in the near term.
