India's Textile & Apparel Exports Fall 3.75% in January 2026

India’s Textile & Apparel Exports Fall 3.75% in January 2026

In January 2026, textile exports fell -3.68% and apparel exports declined -3.84%, with combined exports dropping to $3,275.44 million from $3,403.19 million in January 2025 (-3.75%).

Cotton yarn, fabrics and made-ups declined -4.15% to $995.58 million (from $1,038.69 million), carpets fell -12.05% to $118.99 million, jute products dropped -18.92%, and handicrafts slipped -2.70%.

Man-made yarn and fabrics grew 1.01% to $430.29 million (from $425.97 million) in January 2026.

During April 2025–January 2026, textile exports fell -2.35%, apparel rose 1.59%, while overall textile & apparel exports declined -0.65%.

Sector export share dropped to 8.96% (from 9.37%) in January and 8.13% (from 8.36%) for April–January; cotton raw imports rose 12.33% in January and 72.36% during April–January.
