India's Tamil Nadu Allocates ₹1,943 Crore to Boost Textile Sector in 2026–27

Tamil Nadu’s 2026–27 Interim Budget allocates ₹1,943 crore (~$214.10 million) to Textiles, along with ₹1,943 crore for MSMEs and ₹4,282 crore (~$472.04 million) for Industries.

₹6 crore is set aside for an Advanced Quality Testing Lab at SITRA, Coimbatore under the Technical Textile Mission.

Free power support is enhanced, and ₹18,091 crore is allocated for a new Renewable Energy Policy.

Funds back loom modernisation, handloom parks, SIPCOT parks, worker housing, and ITI upgrades to Industry 4.0 Centres.

The 2026–27 focus strengthens technical textiles, cluster development, and competitiveness.
