India: NITMA Opposes 50% RoDTEP Cut, Seeks Extension Till 2030
The North India Textile Mills’ Association (NITMA) has urged the Centre to roll back Notification No. 60 dated February 23, 2026, which cuts RoDTEP rates and value caps by 50% with immediate effect.
The association warned that halving benefits without reducing embedded taxes will strain exporters, especially those with fixed-price contracts.
It highlighted that RoDTEP validity only until March 2026 has increased uncertainty amid global supply chain realignment.
NITMA has requested restoration of previous rates and extension of the scheme till March 31, 2030, aligning with the US$ 100 billion textile export target by 2030.
The body cautioned that abrupt policy changes could weaken competitiveness and threaten livelihoods across the textile value chain.
