India-Malaysia to Review MICECA During PM Modi's Visit

During Narendra Modi’s Malaysia visit, India and Malaysia will review MICECA, signed in Feb 2011 and effective from 1 July 2011, covering goods, services, and investments.

Modi and Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim are expected to hold wide-ranging talks on trade, investment, defence, semiconductors, digital technologies, renewable energy, and education.

The review aims to boost bilateral trade in a balanced and sustainable manner, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

Both countries are also working with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for an early conclusion of the ASEAN–India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) review.

India–Malaysia bilateral trade is approximately USD 20 billion annually.
