Global ICE Cotton Drops to 61¢ as Benchmarks Stay Weak
ICE March futures fell from 65¢/lb to 61¢/lb (life-of-contract low), while December eased from 69¢ to 67¢/lb; the Cotlook A Index slipped from 74¢ to 73¢/lb.
China’s CC Index 3128B stayed near 104¢/lb (~16,000 RMB/tonne), with the yuan steady at 6.95 RMB/USD.
Indian cotton prices edged down from 78¢ to 76¢/lb, or ₹55,200 to ₹54,000 per candy, with the rupee around ₹91/USD.
Pakistan prices rose from 67¢ to 70¢/lb (from 15,500 to 16,000 PKR per maund ~37.32 kg) before easing; the rupee hovered near 280 PKR/USD.
Overall, global benchmarks were mostly flat to lower, reflecting cautious demand and stable currencies.
