China’s Textile & Apparel Exports: Stability Amid Global Trade Pressures (H1 2025)
From Jan–Jun 2025, China’s textile and apparel exports totaled US$143.98 billion (+0.8% YoY), with textiles at US$70.52B (+1.8%) and apparel at US$73.46B (–0.2%).
In CNY terms, exports hit 1.03 trillion yuan (+1.9%), comprising textiles at 506.81B yuan (+3%) and apparel at 528.01B yuan (+1%).
In June, exports reached US$27.31B (–0.1% YoY), with textiles at US$12.05B (–1.6%) and apparel at US$15.27B (+1.1%).
Exports to the U.S. dropped ~20% YoY in Apr–May due to policy shifts, while exports to the EU, Japan, South Korea, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Brazil, and Nigeria remained strong.
To counter external challenges, China is focusing on market diversification, value-added products, and supply chain resilience.
